2005-2010 Toyota Avalon

The Toyota Avalon is one of the best-selling full-size sedans in the United States. Unfortunately, regardless of its popularity, it has recently come to light that the 2005-2010 iterations of the Avalon are subject to a potentially fatal flaw that affects the acceleration system. The 2005-2010 Avalon is subject to the wave of recalls issued by the Toyota Motor Corporation in relation to the ongoing sudden acceleration problems.

The sudden acceleration error is serious, and while the recall covers the 2005-2010 Avalon, complaints have been received as far back as 2002. If you or someone you love has been injured or worse as the result of a sudden acceleration accident, you may be entitled to financial compensation for your injuries, medical bills, and lost wages. The Avalon sudden recall attorneys of Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C. may be able to help you secure the money you need. Contact us today by calling 800-242-2874 for more information.

The Toyota Avalon

The Toyota Avalon was originally introduced in 1994 as the flagship sedan of the Toyota Motor Corporation. A four-door sedan with a V6 standard and an automatic transmission, it has been marketed as a safe, comfortable family sedan.

Sudden Acceleration

Toyotas made after 2004 may be subject to a serious and potentially deadly error with the acceleration mechanism that can cause them to suddenly and uncontrollably speed up. There have been over 2,000 official complaints of Toyota vehicles such as the Avalon suddenly accelerating, and the issue has caused over 200 injuries and nearly 40 deaths.

Toyota, long built on a reputation of quality and safety, was forced to issue a rapidly expanding series of recalls in late 2009 to correct the sudden acceleration problem. Over 8 million vehicles in total have been recalled in the United States, including the 2005-2010 Avalon.

The Toyota Motor Corporation originally claimed that the acceleration error was caused by an ill-fitting floor mat, but has been forced to admit that the problem may lie in the electronics. While only vehicles from 2004 and on have been recalled so far, complaints go back to at least 2002.

While many people are ignoring the recall notices, the acceleration error has caused tragic injuries and deaths. If you have a Toyota made after 2000, we highly recommend that you contact your local Toyota dealer and discuss your options in more detail.
