2008-2010 Toyota Sequoia

The Toyota Sequoia is a full-size SUV first introduced in 2000. Larger than Toyota’s flagship SUV, the Land Cruiser, it can hold eight passengers. Like most SUVs, it is modeled after the drivetrain of a pickup truck – in this case, the popular Toyota Tundra. Unlike the Tundra, however, the Sequoia offers independent rear suspension, resulting in more city-friendly handling.

Toyota Sequoias produced between 2008 and 2010 are included in the ongoing Toyota recalls. Initiated in response to hundreds of reports of sudden unintended acceleration, these recalls affect numerous Toyota models built since 2000. If you or someone you know drives a recent model Toyota, it is in your interests to ensure your vehicle is safe.

Sudden Acceleration

Toyota’s position as the world’s most popular automaker was built on its reputation for producing safe, reliable vehicles at a reasonable price. But that reputation has recently been tarnished. Hundreds of Toyota owners, while otherwise driving normally, have suddenly found themselves trapped in out-of-control vehicles.

Since late 2009, Toyota has been conducting an extensive series of recalls affecting millions of vehicles around the world, including their popular Toyota Sequoia. While the recalls primarily affect vehicles produced after 2008, nearly any Toyota model produced after 2000 may be at risk for sudden acceleration. The dangers of sudden acceleration are so great that any owner of a recent-model Toyota should have their cars inspected for safety.

If you drive a late model Toyota Sequoia, contact a dealership for more information on the recalls. But if you or someone you know has already experienced sudden acceleration, you may be entitled to compensation. Taking legal action against Toyota can not only help alleviate the suffering you have endured, it can also send a message to automakers that dangerous vehicles will not be tolerated.
